Mario has been in waaaay more games Mario Party 1-8 Mario cart and things like that
i think mario has because of all the games for nintendo 64 and portable systems as well as nintendo gamecube.
i think mario has been in more. there’s the mario party games. there’s the first mario games from NES. there’s mario in ssbb, ssb, and ssbm. to much i can think of…
then again link has been in games like ssbb, ssb, ssbm, ocarina of time, twilight princess, windwaker, majora’s mask, NES games, and lalala…
Mario Has stared in countless games. Like Mario Party games and Maro64, mario 64 Ds,sunshine, and galaxy. Not to mention the cart series. Zelda has never stared in any. Her name is on the title but The game is not about saving her. It is about Link saving hyrule.

If I understand you correctly, you’re only counting actual Mario adventure games, NOT Mario Kart/Mario Party/Mario Sports, etc.
That’s tough to say. I’m not that into the Mario series, but I know that there are 15(ish) Zelda games. You might check Wikipedia or even Nintendo.com to see if they can provide more insight.
