There are few Wii games that are compatible with the classic controller because it’s more commonly used to play Virtual Console games. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is only compatible with the Wii remote.
Some of the compatible games include:
Mario Kart Wii
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mortal Kombat
And of course many downloadable games from the Nes, Super Nintendo en N64 generations and WiiWare titles.
You can always just look on the back of the box to see what controllers are compatible.
